The Reverend Luke Hyder, Pastor

Pastor Luke grew up in Washington and California, the son of a Presbyterian minister. His life-adventure following Jesus Christ was sparked at Calvin Crest, a camp in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Luke graduated in 2001 with a BA in Music and English from Whitworth University in Spokane, where he also met and married the love of his life, Marla, who is now a college writing professor.

Luke served as Director of Contemporary Worship at First Presbyterian Church in Spokane, and then in 2006 earned his Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, with a concentration in Worship, Theology, and the Arts. He continues to be passionate to see God's people enrich and expand their worship life together, and widen the scope of their love through service. Luke was ordained in the PC(USA) in 2006, and joined the pastoral staff of First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville, IL. After 10 years of life and ministry in the Midwest, Luke and his family are thrilled to be back in the Northwest, since being called to be the pastor here at Cascade View in 2016.

Luke and Marla have two daughters, and they love spending time together as a family, hiking and having adventures outdoors. Luke enjoys playing disc sports, drinking coffee, and watching good movies. He is also a singer-songwriter, with two worship songs published in Psalms for All Seasons (FaithAlive, 2012), and an album of original music entitled "Pilgrim Miles."

Katie Splinter, Administrative Assistant & Treasurer

Katie joined us in May 2015, and is in the office Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays, 10am - 2pm. On her off time, Katie enjoys painting rocks and spending time with her family.
